Susan Leinen Design

Welcome to SusanLeinen.com!

I'm so glad you found my web site. I am a web and graphic designer making my home in the San Fernando Valley. My interest in art started at a young age and I've filled up sketchbook after sketchbook with drawings, ideas and observations about life. On any given day, I'd like nothing better than to drop everything and head outside with my sketchbook and pens. I delight in the beauty that God has made and marvel at both the grandeur and the intricate detail it contains. Of course dropping everything to sketch doesn't happen too often as I am now often at the keyboard of the computer and creating with pixels instead of pens. Web page design and creation is both challenging and enjoyable for me; the best part is creating something that helps my clients succeed in their businesses.

But I am getting ahead of myself -- After graduating with a degree in art education, I pursued both teaching elementary level art and being a mom. Having two young boys didn't allow for a lot of time to draw and paint, but I was able to squeeze in a T-shirt design, an illustration for church, or some quality crayon session from time to time. Entering the workforce as a software educator, I enjoyed expanding my knowledge of technology and learning the basics of programming.

From here, I moved my focus to the home front and we spent nine years on a home-schooling adventure. I went from teaching adults intricate software manipulation to lego engineering and geography learning games. One of my favorite parts of this switch was the ability to once again teach art. I taught home-school art groups, did one-on-one tutoring and enjoyed all those wonderful California art museum field trips. I suppose the home-schooling worked because both Tim and Joe graduated from high school and are currently attending college.

This left me free to pursue a new adventure - my own freelance web-design and graphics business. I'm so thankful for every part of this journey and especially for the companionship along the way. My husband, Randy, my children, Tim and Joe and most of all my Savior, Jesus Christ, have all helped me to be the best me I can be.
